Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy

Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks launched last Fall ( US $22). The first thing I need to talk about is the packaging. It is gorgeous! It's a beautiful chrome colour with groves in the casing. They'll definitely stand out in your makeup collection. They are well made and do look quite luxurious.

Anarchy ( love that name) is a bright fuschia pink with a creamy finish. The lipstick applies smoothly to the lips with no tugging and is opaque in one swipe. It lasts around 4 hours before it fades evenly to a nice stain. There is no real detectable scent to the lipstick and I prefer my lipsticks that way. I'm not a fan of overly scented lipsticks. I do plan to get more lipsticks from this range because they are just wonderful.

NYX Matte Lipstick in Shocking Pink

Well Spring is soon here, well for those of you who have seasons . So time to bring back out the bright lipsticks.

Shocking Pink

NYX Shocking Pink is a bright blue based dark pink. It is a lot friendlier colour than it looks in the tube. For a matte it applies smoother than expected but it is a bit drying after a while so a lip balm underneath is recommended. It wears for about four hours before wearing off, however it must be reapplied after meals. Rating: 3.9/5.

Creme of Nature Argan Oil Perfect Edges

Creme of Nature Argan Oil Perfect Edges is a product that promises to lay edges and keep the hair neat for the rest of the day. It's similar to the ORS Edge Control. The product itself feels like a cross between a pudding and a gel. It has a pretty soft texture and spreads easily. I use about a quarter size amount for my entire head.

It does a good job of holding down the edges but I don't have particularly unruly ones. However I do think you would have to touch it up after the six hour mark because the edges tends to look a bit lifted. What I do appreciate is that it stays clear and it doesn't turn white like the ORS Edge Control tends to do.  Overall I do like this edge control and I would repurchase it. Rating: 4/5.

Lorac Pro Palette

CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE THEM.

The Lorac Pro Palette…hmm. I've been hearing and seeing this palette since the end of 2012 and all of 2013 on youtube and it wasn't until the last couple of months that I decided that I needed to own it. To be quite honest, when I first saw it I was quite unimpressed. My first thoughts were " Man, that's one boring looking palette." None of the colours stood out to me. The concept of eight matte shades and eight shimmer shades seemed nice but I honestly just didn't care. What started turning it around for me is realizing how many basic good quality matte shadows that I lacked. I honestly couldn't see me walking into the MAC store and plunking down $51 (BDS) for  a basic matte brown shadow. So I decided to bite the bullet and get the Lorac Pro. I bought mine from ebay from a trusted seller, because there are fakes of these palettes floating around. The fakes though are cheaply made and don't have the smooth, elegant finish of the real palette.
