Liquid Lipsticks Mega Post: Anastasia Beverly Hills, Lime Crime, LA Splash, Kat Von D, Stila and Coloured Raine

I've been wanting to do this post for quite a few months now but I kept on putting it on off because I kept on acquiring more liquid lipsticks. However as of now I have a wide cross section of the most popular brands of liquid lipsticks out there it time to finally establish the good, bad and ugly of liquid lipsticks because trust me, not all liquid lipsticks are made equal.

Left to Right: Anastasia Beverly Hills - Vamp, Heathers, Trust Issues, Sepia. Lime Crime - Shroom, Pansy, Utopia. LA Splash - Raven's Claw. Kat Von D - Vampira, L.U.V. Stila - Aria. Coloured Raine -  Truffle Raine, Raine Fever, Cherry Blossom.

Facts about ALL liquid lipsticks

1. Liquid lipsticks are drying by nature. That is just the make of the product. However some formulas are more drying than others.

2. Oil is the enemy of liquid lipsticks. In other words, it's the best thing to remove them. If you have to use a lip balm before you apply them. Use the least oily or waxy one that you have or it will break down the product  faster and cause it to separate on the lips.

3. None of these lipsticks last through meals. They ALL fade away to some degree. If your food contains any sort of grease or oil expect it to be gone by the end of the meal. Even sandwiches remove liquid lipsticks. If you are snacking on something water based like fruits, fading however will be minimal.

4. Make sure that your lips are properly exfoliated and hydrated before applying any liquid lipstick.

5. All of these liquid lipsticks generally last for around six hours without eating before a need for a touch up.

The typical eyeshadow pan is 0.05 oz. That makes these eyeshadow two and a half times as large as regular eyeshadow. These are also larger than Makeup Forever eyeshadows that come in at 0.07 oz.

Lime Crime Velvetine in Pansy

Lime Crime Velvetine is a liquid matte lipstick. It applies like a liquid lipstick but dries to a matte finish. These Velvetines have enjoyed a cult following since their inception. I decided to try them out when Lime Crime launched Pansy late last year.

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows Swatches and Review

Makeup Geek launched their new foiled eyeshadows on December 1st. However you could've signed up for the pre-order invite and could be the first to shop on November 27th, which is what I did. I ordered 4 out of the 10 colours available.

Showtime. Houndini, Grandstand and Caitlin Rose

First of all I must say that these eyeshadows are not foiled in the true sense. A foiled eyeshadow looks like melted metal on the lid. What these are, are some very nice metallic eyeshadows. They feel like cream/powder hybrid. They are buttery, smooth with a high shine. They are really some well done eyeshadows that don't have any fall out.

These eyeshadows in my opinion apply better with your finger than a brush but it's up to you. They go on like a cream so there aren't any particles to fall anywhere. They last for about 8 hours before they start to fade significantly.

L-R: Houndini, Caitlin Rose, Showtime, Grandstand
Swatched on bare skin, no primer

Houdini: a blackened teal with blue reflects. It's quite a pretty colour. Sadly this colour came broken and I thought pressing it back in the pan would've fixed it but when I placed it in my Z palette, the entire eyeshadow dropped out of the pan and smashed everywhere. However I contacted customer service at Makeup Geek and in less than two hours they responded and they are sending me a replacement shadow with no hassle whatsoever. That's the kind of customer service that I like.

Caitlin Rose: a perwinkle purple. This had the weakest pigmentation in the bunch but it's still a strong colour just not as strong as the rest. But it's really beautiful and all proceeds from this eyeshadow goes to a charity for persons with Batten's Disease.

Showtime: a bronzy brown with silver shimmer. This wasn't as shiny as the rest but the pigmentation on this is strong and it's so smooth and it blends out easily. An instant favourite.

Grandstand: a rose gold with a hint of brown. This colour is so damn beautiful. You see that swatch? That is one swipe! Now this is the closest one to a true foiled shadow. It's buttery, smooth, packs a punch and is long lasting.

Final thoughts: I like this product. I really do. I love whatever it is they made these eyeshadows out of. You can't find better metallic eyeshadows at this price point. Rating: 4.3/5

Urban Decay Electric Palette

I had absolutely no intentionof buying this palette when it was launched. I was like " Nope! Don't need it."  I resisted it quite well until a strange thing happened. Makeup ForEver launched its 30 year anniversary palette and it had some brights in it that were so pretty and I was like " I want that." But any one living in a country that does not sell MUFE knows that it is a notoriously hard brand to get online. So I was like, you know what, Imma get the Electric palette instead.
